👩🏽🏫 | Record Video with Studio
You can record a video using your webcam in Canvas Studio. Videos can be recorded from any page in your account. You can record media for any length of time, but shorter video recordings under 5 minutes long are recommended due to browser resource limitations.
Record Video
To record a video, click the Record button [1], then click the Screencast-o-Matic link [2]. This will allow you the option to record your face (with your webcam), capture what's on your screen, or a combination of both.
Note: Screen Capture is not available on Chromebooks. Select "Studio Capture" if you are using a Chromebook.
Download and Install Screen Capture Application
To record the screen, you will need to download and install the screen capture application. To download the application, click the Download button.
Note: If you have downloaded a different version of the screen capture application, uninstall the previous version and download the recent version from Studio.
Record Screen Capture
Once the application has installed, you will have the choice to record your Screen, your Webcam, or Both.
To start the screen capture, click the Rec button [7].
Pause Screen Capture
When the screen capture is done, click the Pause button.
Finish Screen Capture
To upload the screen capture, click the Done button [1].To preview the screen capture, click the Play button [2]. To delete the screen capture and start over, click the Delete button [3].
Upload Screen Capture
To upload the screen capture, enter a title [1], description [2], and then click the Upload button [3]. You can also edit the capture Links to an external site. [4], redo the capture [5], or cancel the capture [6].
IMPORTANT TO NOTE: Studio has great editing tools (see next page), and it you want to edit your recording, you must click Edit, and complete your edits BEFORE you proceed with uploading your video.
