A new feature in Zoom allows you to import meetings scheduled using the Zoom Desktop App or on the Zoom website (zoom.usLinks to an external site.) and into your Canvas course. You are also able to access all recordings from within Canvas as well.
You are now able to schedule all of your Zoom meetings outside of Canvas, then choose which meetings you want to import into your particular class. This is especially helpful because you now can schedule all of your meetings (including recurring meetings) in one place.
Be aware: A particular meeting can only be imported into a single course. If a meeting is already in use in one course, you'll need to delete it from there before adding it to another course.
Click "Zoom" in the course navigation.
Click the title of the Zoom meeting you wish to delete, then click the Delete button.
Confirm the deletion. If the meeting is NOT recurring, click Delete. If the meeting is recurring, click Delete All of the Occurrences to delete the entire series.
When you're ready to import a meeting, select "Zoom" from the course navigation.
Select the three vertical dots then "Import Meeting"
Enter Meeting ID, then select "Import."
To access all meeting recordings, navigate to "Cloud Recordings."
Accessing the meeting
Your students will be able to access your meeting via any link you sent them through email, but there are also several places where Canvas will provide access information. These include:
the Zoom link in the course navigation menu
the Course Summary in the Syllabus
the Canvas Calendar
the To-Do and Upcoming list
Now that you've invited your participants, it's time to prepare to manage the meeting.
Click 'Next' for Troubleshooting & Help Tips.
