Reading Groups
Reading groups can allow students to choose course content that interests them and to collaborate with their peers who share the same interest. These reading groups can be used as a one-time assignment, or as part of a larger project throughout the course. The reading material could be research articles, case studies, new stories, or any other content relevant to your course.
To set up your reading groups:
- Start by creating the groups in Canvas Links to an external site. for each reading option. Be sure to select "allow self-sign up" in the group settings!
- Next, provide your students with the reading options and instructions to join their groups.
- Tip! Make this page a to-do item Links to an external site. so students see it in their to-do list.
Once students have joined their groups, there are a variety of assignments they can complete, such as:
- Group Discussions
- Collaborative Annotations
- Group Presentation
