So Glad You're Here!
More and more, new tools and strategies are available for measuring learning based on students’ work and using the results to improve teaching, learning, and student success. The idea of "authentic" assessment refers to activities that focus on demonstrating competencies as they take place in—or in an environment emulating—the real-world. It is both sound pedagogy and naturally protects assessment integrity (meaning it's harder for students to engage in cheating).
