Order of Operations
The recommended order to complete everything on time is:
Day 1
- Background check - this can take up to a month to complete, so start early
- Drug test - this can take 2-3 weeks to complete, so start early
- 1st TB test or Quantiferon blood test for TB
- Lab titers drawn to show immunity to hepatitis B, measles, mumps, rubella, and varicella.
- You MUST have these done even if you have been vaccinated before! Vaccinations wear off over time.
- If Quantiferon is done, skip to Day 5
Day 3
- Read 1st TB test (if not doing Quantiferon)
- Get 2nd TB test (if not doing Quantiferon)
Day 5
- Read 2nd TB test (if not doing Quantiferon)
- Get vaccinations for any titer results that show low immunity.
- Complete physical, signed by a doctor or nurse practitioner.
- PRINT all lab results, vaccination records (including new boosters) and both TB test results and add them to Checklist 3. Do NOT check them off on the form- your instructor will do that when they review the results.
